Fripp Island
As you leave Historic Beaufort and make your way over our famous swing bridge; its time to leave your world behind. You have begun your 19-mile journey over five Sea Islands and five scenic bridges to an island paradise.
Marsh lands and river vistas ease the way to the Fripp Island bridge and as you slow to the island wide speed limit of 25 you will know you have arrived at a very special place.
The private, pristine, gated community of Fripp Island. This friendly 3,000 acre oceanfront resort has 3 1/2 miles of Atlantic beach, a pleasant year round climate and a bridge that sets this island apart from crowds and traffic.
The Fripp Island Club offers two championship golf courses (George Cobb's Ocean Point and Davis Love III's Ocean Creek). For the tennis lover, there are eight soft courts and two hard courts.
Club amenities include several pools, croquet court, playground, boat rentals, excursions, Camp Fripp and teen activities. Most islanders and guests enjoy using their golf carts for transportation while on the island.
For the joggers and bikers the island offers an extensive bike path network.
There is a full service marina with dry boat storage as well as slips.
Five restaurants give a variety of dining experiences from the Bonito Boat house where islanders gather to watch the sunset and tell tales of their Island day to the Beach Club located Oceanfront and hosting fabulous views.
Lunch at the Cabana Club is a must as you sit on the veranda and look over the million-dollar swimming pool complex to Pritchards Island. Or stop in Hugos for breakfast before starting your golf round on Ocean Point.
Several shops and boutiques offer island mementoes to take back home.
